WiPPL is now accepting external user proposals for experiments in 2020. Project proposals
submitted by 30 December 2019 will be reviewed by our External Advisory Board (EAB), a
panel of outside, independent plasma physics experts, based on principles similar to DOE
merit review criteria:
* Scientific and/or technological significance (main impacts, anticipated benefits);
* Appropriateness and feasibility of approach (adequate design and planning, likelihood
* Broader impacts (workforce development, diagnostics, …).
Project proposals successfully reviewed by the EAB will be considered in WiPPL run time
planning for the upcoming year. Proposals submitted after the due date will still be
considered on a case-by-case basis. We anticipate that if approved, a typical external
user project might be afforded up to a few weeks of run time in 2020, depending on run
